Watch the videos from the first Nordic Libraries Annual conference

Library Channel (Kirjastokaista) has co-operated many years with the Regional State Administrative Agencies in Finland (AVI). When we were asked to become a partner in a seminar on sustainable development, our answer was yes. We were familiar with the organizer and the topic of the conference was important. When Päivi Jokitalo was asked to facilitate the conference online, we had the perfect starting points!

COVID-19 has forced us to stream webinars from the home instead of going to conferences and seminars to stream them from the live event. Library Channel cameramen have accumulated a strong knowledge of the technical implementation of high-quality streams. This year has also made them webinar professionals.

A two-day webinar “Nordic Libraries Annual: Towards Sustainable Futures” was held on 5th and 6th November 2020. The first Nordic Libraries Annual conference concentrates on public libraries and sustainability. We approach sustainability from different points of view, as well as different points of expertise. The programme includes two main keynotes, presentations on approaches to sustainability in different Nordic countries, as well as shorter talks on Finnish development projects and best practices in libraries.
